ZUMBA MANIA AND THE CARE FOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS

The echoing loudness of live music woke up the silently sleeping souls nearby to signal the start of the 69th Araw ng Compostela. But not everyone knows, this loudness happen every working days all year-round.

Starting the 5-day long celebration of the town’s founding anniversary through converging the people in one venue to dance to the tune of musical agility and poetry in active motions, Zamba Mania is an expression and manifestations of the great concern of the local government toward health and wellness of its people.

Very well participated by large number of dancers from different walks of life and representing various sectors and offices, the municipal ground was crowded with seriously perspired men and women while following the dance steps of Zumba® Fitness with Z9 Crew led by Leodil Macarayan, the instructor every Zumba fanatics of Compostela know, including Mayor Lema P. Bolo who religiously attended the morning fitness exercises every day when she is around.

Present in the occasion were teachers from different schools, from elementary to high school, senior high school and colleges. Participating offices include all the departments of the local government unit, national government offices, PNP personnel, personnel of the Philippine Army. In the front row were different Zumba groups from the private sector, including the back-up dancers on stage, who lively and enthusiastically showed their well-enhanced skills.

While Zumba Mania, at a simple glance, is all about dancing, physical exercise and showdown of dancing skills along with move-inspiring music, it is great call for purposeful care of health and wellness everyone should put premium of.

From start to finish, the event was an expression of camaraderie, oneness and solidarity among the participants, as showed by their smiling faces and willing gestures, and happily tell the world “Compostela Love Ko…Padayon sa Paglambo”.
