Born on June 19, 1969, she is the daughter of the venerable Mayor Senen B. Suarez whose career in public service shaped the growth and development of the Municipality of Compostela, Davao de Oro. She entered politics and started her public service career when she became a Member of the Sangguniang Bayan of Compostela in the year 2001. As a lady legislator, she espoused Women and Children Development underscoring their right to health and proper nutrition.

At present, she is the Committee Chairperson on Health and Appropriations. She authored landmark legislative measures: the Revision of Municipal Ecological Solid Waste Management Ordinance, Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Care Ordinance, Creation of the Municipal Nutrition Council, among others.
