Municipal Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative

The Sangguniang Bayan of Compostela, Davao de Oro, headed by Vice Mayor Ricky Hechanova, joins the Indigenous Cultural Communities in congratulating Mtkdg. Gil Peralta Blanco on his election as the Municipal Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative.

IPMR Blanco was chosen by his tribe and will officially take his seat for another term as the representative to the Sangguniang Bayan, edging out other aspirants. This is following RA 8371 which mandates the representation of IPs in all policy-making bodies and other local legislative councils, and to enjoy the same privileges as the regular members of the legislative bodies.
