2023 LOCAL LEGISLATIVE AWARD | The Sangguniang Bayan of Compostela

2023 LOCAL LEGISLATIVE AWARD | The Sangguniang Bayan of Compostela, Davao de Oro, headed by Vice Mayor Ricky Hechanova, was evaluated by the Provincial Award Committee for the Local Legislative Award on September 14, 2023, at the SB Session Hall.

The Sangguniang Bayan was assessed based on the criteria set by the DILG and Philippine Councilors League which include responsiveness to the legislative agenda, availability of legislative documents, effectiveness of performance of the Sanggunian, efficiency of performance, and capacity development for legislators and staff.

Barangay Civil Registration System (BCRS) – Public Hearing

IN PHOTOS | SB Committee on Women and Family Hon. Juric Blanco conducted a public hearing relative to the proposed ordinance establishing the Barangay Civil Registration System (BCRS) in the Municipality of Compostela, Davao de Oro, on September 12, 2023.

BCRS is a strategy to facilitate civil registration at the community level where the Barangay Officials assist the Municipal Civil Registrars in civil registration activities. The main objective of the proposed ordinance would be to promote and maintain a responsive civil registration system equipped with efficient and simple sets of procedures for listing vital occurrences and characteristics of a person such as birth, marriage, death, and judicial and administrative orders.

Present during the public hearing are the representatives from the different barangay local government units and the Municipal Civil Registrar.
